Hey everybody Rob Manward here, welcome back to Tesla Daily. Of course we've got quite a few days worth of news to catch up on today including new details on the Cybertruck updates on Tesla in China and India and of course the launch of XAIs first product, Grock.

Looking at the stock Tesla today closing up just slightly less than a tenth of a percent to $222.11, the Nasdaq though up about a tenth of a percent, though largely over the last couple of days the stock unchanged from where we left it Friday within about 1%.

Alright so we're going to start off today with some new details on the Cybertruck. So this information is being shared today by the YouTube channel TFL EV. Now they do say that this isn't necessarily confirmed but they're claiming to have some inside details on the Cybertruck here including a number of new dimensions that we have not previously seen and they do have a couple of different photos that although don't necessarily validate it do give some credence to these numbers being correct including a look at the outlets that are at least on what maybe as a pre-production version of the Cybertruck looks like a NEMA 1450 outlet here which would be a 240 volt outlet probably capable of putting out somewhere between 10 and 12 kilowatts of power which would be obviously an exciting feature to have and then a couple of 110 volt outlets there as well. So obviously again not confirmed there but that would be exciting if this is indeed part of the production version pretty clearly this is a version of the Cybertruck at least. And then they do also share what they say as a top down view at the rear casted section of the Cybertruck. I don't know that this at least that I can learn a whole lot from this but again I think it adds some credibility to what we're talking about and maybe interesting look here for some that have a little bit more experience with those things. So anyway getting back to the dimensions they do say that the overall length is 18.6 feet that would be the equivalent of just over 223 inches just to quickly compare that with a couple of vehicles we've got the Ford F1T or the Ford F1 50 Lightning here getting that picked up with the R1T but for the F1 50 Lightning we can see the overall length 232.7 so about nine and a half inches less in length for the Cybertruck. The width, Tesla or the specs here are saying just under 80 inches so basically equivalent in width to the F1 50 Lightning and then for length and width comparisons on the R1T it's actually a little bit narrower the width there with the mirrors in would be about 81.8 inches so a couple inches wider than the Cybertruck but about five inches shorter in length. So hopefully that gives us a little bit of a feel for just the size of the vehicle in general and then we do also get some specs on the bed here so bed length 72.8 inches right around six feet which would be I think a little bit longer than maybe expectations initially especially with the shorter length of the vehicle. It'd actually be a longer length bed than the F1 50 Lightning which if we scroll down a little bit here we can see the bed is 67 inches in length so about five inches more in bed length for the Cybertruck there if this again is accurate and then if we look at width 51 inches which is pretty close to both the R1T and the F1 50 Lightning. The R1T it does have again similar width but of course we know roughly four and a half foot bed there in the R1T. So of course the Cybertruck bed was always going to be longer but interesting to see those comparisons.

Long volume here 7 cubic feet that's about half the size of the F1 50 Lightning front trunk and then you can see some specs on just general leg room and things like that in the vehicle.

So we'll get all of this of course a little bit later on a couple more things here just curb weight. They do say the two motor version is about 6700 pounds the three motor version about 6900 pounds. Both of those would fall pretty close to the estimates or the rough ballpark that Elon gave us on the Joe Rogan podcast that we had previously talked about. In terms of what that would mean for maximum range they would be pretty impressive to get the 500 miles out of that so maybe a little bit of an indication that we should lower a range expectations but again don't want to make too many judgments off of this quite yet and then they do have the tow rating here at 1100 pounds this would be lower than what Tesla had initially stated but since there is only one tow rating here maybe that will vary across trims and of course these things could all change for the Cybertruck over time depending on what options Tesla wants to start with initially. So we'll see if those end up being accurate but nevertheless good to see some of these details especially like the power options here. They do say that no outlets in the front despite these three in the rear of the vehicle obviously can work around that. I think it would be nice if that availability was there up front too. Maybe that's something that will change for the production version but for now should probably not expect that.

All right so moving on we do have a couple other things from the Cybertruck. I just want to add that out of order there but we'll go back to that one. So there was a matte black Cybertruck that was spotted being driven by Franz von Holshausen so we've got a few images here from CNC picks on Instagram of that black Cybertruck which is I think something that a lot of people have been excited to see what it would look like in person. Got a short video here as well and then another one on X that has been shared by Tommy Kendall just a quick shot of it driving through a parking lot. So fun to see that and I'm sure we'll see a pretty frequent adoption of that sort of a matte black wrap for the Cybertruck.

And then we got an update from Joe Tagmire on the Cybertruck just saying that it does sound I guess I don't know if this is him saying this specifically or if he's repeating a rumor that was heard elsewhere I think Holmars had mentioned this as well but the word of the factory Gigataxis is that customer production of the Cybertruck has now started. So we're about three weeks out from that delivery event it would make sense timing wise for that to be the case but would be an exciting milestone if so for that official start of customer production and of course you can see the Cybertrucks being spotted as we frequently see from Joe. He also noted that there is some new equipment being shipped into Gigataxis today and it does sound like this is new paint shop equipment from the TKS labeling that he was able to spot. And interestingly it looks like this is actually going into an area of the factory that would be a new area perhaps relating to the next gen vehicle would be the speculation on that. So no way of confirming that of course at this point but obviously interesting to see this type of equipment on top of some of the other equipment that we've seen come in as well.

And then moving on to Tesla in China quite a few updates here first Tesla has raised the price on the long range version of the Model 3 and the Model Y. So for the Model 3 that was 1500 RMB or about $200 for the Model Y it was 2500 RMB or about 340 dollars. So pretty small price increases but as we can see the wait time here covering that a little bit but six to eight weeks for the long range version of the Model Y that's pretty lengthy late time especially pretty lengthy wait time especially for what we've seen over the last you know six months to 12 months or so. And for the Model 3 of course we just had the update to Highland so for them to be increasing the price maybe a little bit of a reaction to initial ordering interest for that updated vehicle. So overall probably good news for margins with these although small price increases those paired with the somewhat high relative wait times that we see. And of course on the Model Y performance we just had the 14,000 RMB increase on that trim probably a couple of weeks ago. So again probably positive signs there hopefully for demand and for margins but we'll keep an eye on that because obviously that can change quickly.

And then we do also have a little bit more granular data on the wholesale sales figure that we had talked about previously for October.
Remember that was 72,000 vehicles for the month.
We now have the breakdown for Model 3 in Model Y it's about 47,000 Model Y just under 25,000 Model 3.
So of course that represents a pretty good number that seems like we'll probably see some pretty good production from the Model 3 in October.
We should get those production details by Monday I would guess at some point probably in the next three or four days.

And then for export versus retail sales split we did see about 43,500 vehicles exported which is the highest that we have seen since the last October actually.
So pretty strong export number there is Tesla probably prioritizing exports for the Model 3 Highland initially and then retail sales coming in at about 28,500.
So we'll continue to fill in these details as we get them over the next few days.

And then we do also have an updated insured vehicle number for this week 14,000 is the number so we're starting to see as we had talked about last week a bigger contribution likely from Model 3 Highlands being delivered in China.
This number is the best of this quarter obviously so far and the best numbers that we have seen since August.
So obviously nice trend developing there for the fourth quarter week by week numbers.
About 5000 or so of those I believe were Model 3's.

Many of this many of these details we have talked about so improvements from the upgraded model three happened at the R&D center in China.
We've already had I believe a video that included Lars talking about some of those changes but they say ventilated seats new interior materials quietness and ambient light developed by the Shanghai R&D innovation center.
They talk a little bit about some details on local storage of data we've talked about that production production car coming off the line every 30 seconds or in about 30 seconds.

So if you annualize that that rate that comes out to roughly what Tesla's production rate has been near a million vehicles per year.
So although that got some attention probably nothing too new on that point automation in the welding workshop is now close to 100% gigacasting reduces manufacturing time from one to two hours to three to five minutes presumably on those parts and all the labor hours that are going into that not necessarily the pace of getting the vehicles off the line or anything like that more of just the labor hour consideration on that point.

And then finally perhaps the most interesting point the Shanghai megapack factory mega factory will cover the global market.
So obviously we know Tesla ramping it up ramping their mega factory up in Lathrop have plans for another mega factory in Shanghai but it sounds like that will export which should be no surprise given what we see from gigashang high on the vehicle side.
But nevertheless I think that's exciting and hopefully suggest that there will be room to grow this factory potentially pretty significantly above the initial production stage.

And then moving on to India we've got a couple updates here this one being reported by the economic times.
Apparently the prime minister's office in India is holding meetings regarding the status of electric vehicles and import tariffs that will obviously affect Tesla's decision to be active in the country potentially invest in the country.

So that's kind of what Tesla's been pushing for.

They also say that the ministries and government departments have been asked to ask to iron out any differences with Tesla and pave the way for announcing the company's India manufacturing plan at the earliest point that they can't.

So we continue to hear about this. Elon has said that they will most likely make significant investments in India at some point in the future. It's something that he's very excited about. I guess XAI has launched Grock on X for X premium plus members that have been in that membership period for a long time. It's kind of weird but limited access right now. Grock or Grock not sure exactly how Elon is wanting us to pronounce it but I've always heard Grock so that's what I'm going to go with for now.

So the tweet or the post that I have up here from Elon says that provided that our vehicle AI computer is able to run the model Tesla will probably have the most amount of true usable inference compute on earth even in a Robotaxi future the cars will only be used for one third of hours per week leaving two thirds for distributed inference like SETI.

I think at its most simplest or at most basic level even just having an AI assistant in the vehicle to handle things like voice commands and those types of interactions especially if we look a little bit forward to the Robotaxi future that Elon mentions here where you could just easily get in the car tell it to take you to go get groceries and come back in a half an hour and find parking in the interim if it's your car or send another ride and 30 minutes to pick you up when it's if it's a Robotaxi and you're letting it be on the network or using cars on network just having that natural language interaction with a vehicle like that will be pretty exciting and obviously a lot of possibilities beyond just a simple logistical case like that.

So it'll be interesting to see how this develops it sounds like this is probably something that they're they're working on over time with Elon saying that their you know a our computer is going to need going to need to be able to run the model but you know in general I think the interaction or the correspondence that these companies will have with each other is probably only going to increase over time.

So we'll obviously keep an eye on that and just kind of fun to see the initial stages of Groc right now. And then one quick thing here on Tesla so there was some reporting today that the updated model three the Highland Model 3 has a HEPA air filter like we see in other Tesla vehicles previously this has been a size constraint issue.

And then outside of Tesla we do have updated earnings results for the third quarter for Rivian Lucid and then we've got an update on Cruz as well.

So we'll start with Rivian here they've actually updated their guidance to a total production expectation this year of 54,000 vehicles. At the beginning of the year I believe that started out at 50,000 they increased that again to 52,000 or they increased that previously to 52,000 now again to 54,000.

Beyond just Amazon so I'm sure many of us have seen those vehicles out and about for Amazon they had a contract that was going to be for 100,000 of these vans through 2030 I believe. It looks like I don't know if they've renegotiated that contract or something like that but it looks like Rivian is now offering these starting at $83,000 for a vehicle with a range of you know 170 miles or so.

So we may see those soon popping up for other companies outside of Amazon.

And then finally for cruise we did get a recall posted I believe yesterday from NHTSA.
