If the world is to truly transition to sustainable energy (the entire purpose of Tesla's existence), the need for battery manufacturing is obviously going to take center stage. The thing is, this is way bigger than just electric vehicles...this is an arms race for the infrastructure of the 21st century and the United States has gotten off to a terribly slow start.
