INTERVIEW
We discussed Alexia's recent article on TechCrunch in which she outlines Facebook's Bill of Rights -- a list of rights that she believes all users of Facebook should have. We had a great discussion about the motivation behind the article and the possibilities of Facebook implementing some of these rights.
FEATURED APP -- Mint.com
Mint.com -- Great personal financial management app with one of the best corporate blogs out there. Mint connects to all of your online banking accounts and automatically categorizes purchases as you make them and compares them to budgets you set for yourself. In addition, it also shows purchasing trends in your area and compares your spending patterns to others in your area as well as your income bracket.
TIP OF THE WEEK -- Managing Multiple Accounts
Registering multiple Twitter accounts can be tricky as Twitter only allows a one email address to be associated with one Twitter account. To get around this, simply amend the "+" symbol to your Gmail or Google apps account to essentially create an alias email on the fly. So if your username is [email protected] simply use [email protected] and [email protected] etc... to get around the Twitter restriction. We also discussed different applications to manage these multiple accounts including HootSuite, Cotweet and Seesmic among others.
LINK OF THE WEEK -- Tim Ferris on Creating Headlines
Blog post by Tim Ferris on how to create headlines that get retweeted.
NEWS
The REAL 'Stuff White People Like'
Great blog post by OkCupid who put out very data rich and interesting studies on it's OkTrends blog based on it's database of 3.5 million active users of its dating service. Description of study from OkCupid:
"We selected 526,000 OkCupid users at random and divided them into groups by their (self-stated) race. We then took all these people's profile essays (280 million words in total!) and isolated the words and phrases that made each racial group's essays statistically distinct from the others."

DOING IT WRONG -- AT&T Customer Service
AT&T reached out to customers to discuss all the things they are doing to improve their service. The email directed customers to their Facebook page to offer feedback. Ironically, you had to "like" AT&T's Facebook page before you could comment. Needless to say, it didn't turn out well.
